The 3-day plan

Day 1 — Delhi → Haridwar
Drive to Haridwar by afternoon. Evening at Har Ki Pauri for the Ganga aarti — arrive a little early for a good spot on the ghats.

Day 2 — Haridwar → Rishikesh
Morning temple visits, then the short drive to Rishikesh. Walk Laxman Jhula, visit the ashrams, and catch the sunset aarti at Triveni Ghat.
3
Day 3 — Rishikesh → Delhi
Morning is yours — rafting runs with licensed operators start early (booked separately, your own). Afternoon drive back to Delhi.

Eat the puri-sabzi breakfast near Har Ki Pauri, that's what Haridwar does best. Tapovan in Rishikesh is all cafes and bakeries. Both towns are strictly vegetarian, no eggs either.
