Overview
About this property
Rambagh Palace is a very old palace in Jaipur. It is now a hotel, but it still feels like a palace. The building is big and white, with wide lawns and tall trees all around it. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is how calm it is. The city noise stays outside the gate.
The palace was once home to the royal family of Jaipur. That history is still there in the walls, the courtyards and the old style of the rooms. Nothing here feels rushed or new. The staff move slowly, the gardens are well kept, and there is always a quiet corner to sit in.
In the morning, the gardens are the best part. You can take a slow walk, sit with a cup of tea, and watch the peacocks that live on the grounds. In the evening, the palace lights come on and the whole place looks warm and soft. It is a good place to slow down, especially if you have just come from a long drive or a busy day in the city.
Rambagh Palace is not a place for people who want a small, modern hotel. It is for people who like old buildings, open space and a quiet pace. If you like history, or if you simply want one calm day in Jaipur, this is a good choice.

Rooms
Rooms made for rest
The rooms at Rambagh Palace are large and quiet. They are done in an old palace style, with heavy curtains, big beds and enough space to open your bags properly. After a day out in Jaipur, this matters more than people think. You come back tired, and you want a room that feels calm.
The bathrooms are modern and clean. The rooms have WiFi, and if you feel hungry late at night, in-room dining is open all day and night. You do not have to go out to find food.
If you are travelling with family, ask the hotel about rooms that suit your group size. Room types and prices change with the season, so the hotel's own website will have the latest list. We do not show prices here because they change often, and we do not want to show you an old price.
Food & drink
Where to eat
There are three places to eat and drink inside the hotel: Suvarna Mahal, Rajput Room and Verandah. Suvarna Mahal is the main restaurant, and it is known for its royal style dining. Rajput Room is a good place for a quiet drink in the evening. Verandah is more relaxed, good for a long lunch or a cup of coffee during the day.
If you do not feel like dressing up for dinner, you can simply order food to your room. In-room dining runs all day and night, so a late dinner after a long day is never a problem.
One small tip: if you are staying for one night only, try to have at least one meal inside the hotel. The food and the setting together are part of why people come here. You can always eat in the city on your next visit.
Things to do
A slow day at the hotel
You do not need a plan for a day at Rambagh Palace. Start with a slow morning walk in the gardens. Then breakfast, then some rest. In the afternoon, the spa, J Wellness Circle, is there if you want a massage or just some quiet time. In the evening, sit in the bar with a drink, or take another walk when the lights come on.
That is really the whole point of this hotel. It gives you a reason to slow down. Jaipur city is busy and full of things to see. The palace gives you a calm place to come back to.
If you have children with you, the open gardens are a big plus. Kids get space to run around, and you get to sit and watch them without worry. Just keep an eye on them near the water features, as you would anywhere.

Location
Where it is, and what is near
All the hotels on this page are in Jaipur city. From here, the old city is easy to reach by taxi. The Hawa Mahal, the City Palace and the markets of the old city are the places most visitors go to first. Amber Fort is a little further out, and it is worth half a day on its own.
If you are coming by taxi from Delhi, your driver will drop you at the hotel gate. For going around Jaipur the next day, you can book a taxi for the full day, or take short trips one by one. Cheapcab runs Delhi to Jaipur taxis, and local Jaipur trips can be arranged with the hotel or a local driver.
We have not written distances here on purpose. Road work and traffic change travel time in Jaipur, so a fixed number would go out of date fast. Ask your driver for the time on the day you travel.
If this is your first time in Jaipur, these are the places most people visit: Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Jal Mahal, and the old city markets like Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar. You do not need to see all of them in one day. Pick two or three, and keep the rest for your next visit.
Getting here
How to reach the hotel
Most guests reach Jaipur by road from Delhi. The drive is about 300 km on a good highway, and most people leave in the morning and reach Jaipur by the afternoon. If you leave late, you will reach in the evening, which is also fine, as the hotels are easy to find and the staff are there at all hours.
If you come by train or flight, you will reach Jaipur station or Jaipur airport first. From there, a short taxi ride takes you to the hotel. Keep the hotel name and address ready on your phone, and share it with your driver before you start. That avoids confusion at the end of a long journey.
One practical tip: if you are booking a taxi from Delhi, book it a day early. Morning pickups get booked fast, and a confirmed booking means you do not have to bargain with drivers at the last minute. Cheapcab takes 20 percent advance, and the rest you pay after your trip.
Best time
Best time to visit Jaipur
The best time to visit Jaipur is from October to March. The weather is cool and pleasant, and you can walk around the old city without getting tired fast. This is also the time when most tourists come, so hotels get full early. If you plan to come in these months, book your hotel a few weeks ahead.
April to June is very hot in Jaipur. If you come in summer, plan your sightseeing for the morning and evening, and rest in the afternoon. The palace gardens are still nice in the early morning, before the heat builds up.
July to September brings rain. The city looks green and fresh, and there are fewer tourists. Roads can get wet, so keep some extra time for travel. For a quiet trip at a lower rush, the rainy season is actually a good choice.
Good to know
Before you book
Cheapcab does not book hotels. You book a hotel on its own official website, using the button on this page. Prices, room types, check-in time and cancellation rules are all on the hotel's site, and they change with the season. Always read them there before you pay.
The photos on this page are from the hotel's official website, and the source link is given under the photo gallery. We do not use photos from booking sites or stock photo sites for hotels.
If you need a taxi to reach the hotel, or to go around Jaipur after you arrive, you can book it from Cheapcab. The taxi fare and the hotel stay are separate. Your taxi driver will not charge you for the hotel, and the hotel will not charge you for the taxi.
One last practical tip for Jaipur: carry a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes, as the old city is best seen on foot and the days get hot. Keep your hotel's name and address saved on your phone, so any taxi driver can take you back without confusion. Small shops in the markets often prefer cash, so keep some small notes handy along with your card.
