Overview

About this property

Jai Mahal Palace is another old palace hotel in Jaipur, run by the Taj group. Like Rambagh, it was once a royal home, and it still carries that feel. The building sits in large gardens, away from the main road, so the first thing you feel here is quiet.

The gardens are a big part of the stay. There are wide lawns, old trees and paths to walk on. In the morning, the gardens are cool and calm. In the evening, they are a good place for a slow walk before dinner.

This palace is a good pick for families. There is an outdoor pool for adults and a separate kids pool, so children have their own place to play. There is also a spa and yoga on site, if you want a slow morning before you head out into the city.

Jai Mahal Palace suits people who want a palace stay but with a relaxed, family-friendly feel. It is grand, but it does not feel stiff. If you like gardens, pools and old buildings, you will like it here.

Rooms

Rooms made for rest

The rooms at Jai Mahal Palace are large and done in a palace style. They are quiet, with enough space for a family to spread out. After a day in the Jaipur heat, a cool, calm room matters a lot, and that is what you get here.

The rooms have WiFi. If you are travelling with children, ask the hotel about rooms near the pool or the gardens, so the kids can go out and play easily.

Room types and prices change with the season, so the hotel's own website will have the latest list. We do not show prices here because they change often, and we do not want to show you an old price.

Food & drink

Where to eat

There are three restaurants inside the hotel: Cinnamon, Giardino and Marble Arch. Between them, they cover your main meals of the day, from breakfast to dinner. For a drink in the evening, there is the Marigold Bar.

If you have children with you, meal times are easy here. You can eat inside the hotel without going out into the city for every meal, which helps on a hot day or when the kids are tired.

One small tip: try to have at least one dinner inside the hotel during your stay. Eating in a palace, with the gardens outside, is part of the experience here.

Things to do

A slow day at the hotel

A good day at Jai Mahal Palace starts slow. Take a walk in the gardens, then breakfast. After that, the outdoor pool is the best place to be, especially in the warmer months. The kids pool keeps children busy while you rest nearby.

In the afternoon, the spa, J Wellness Circle, is there if you want a massage. Yoga is also available on site, which is a nice way to start a morning before sightseeing.

In the evening, the palace looks its best. The lights come on, the gardens cool down, and the whole place feels calm after the day's heat. If you are here with children, let them play in the gardens for a while before dinner, while you sit with a cup of tea. Dinner at one of the three restaurants is easy, as you do not have to leave the hotel. After dinner, a short walk in the gardens helps you sleep well. The next morning, if you have time, do yoga on site before breakfast. It sets a slow, calm tone for the day, and it is one of the small things that makes a palace stay feel different from a normal hotel stay.

Location

Where it is, and what is near

All the hotels on this page are in Jaipur city. From here, the old city is easy to reach by taxi. The Hawa Mahal, the City Palace and the markets of the old city are the places most visitors go to first. Amber Fort is a little further out, and it is worth half a day on its own.

If you are coming by taxi from Delhi, your driver will drop you at the hotel gate. For going around Jaipur the next day, you can book a taxi for the full day, or take short trips one by one. Cheapcab runs Delhi to Jaipur taxis, and local Jaipur trips can be arranged with the hotel or a local driver.

We have not written distances here on purpose. Road work and traffic change travel time in Jaipur, so a fixed number would go out of date fast. Ask your driver for the time on the day you travel.

If this is your first time in Jaipur, these are the places most people visit: Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Jal Mahal, and the old city markets like Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar. You do not need to see all of them in one day. Pick two or three, and keep the rest for your next visit.

Getting here

How to reach the hotel

Most guests reach Jaipur by road from Delhi. The drive is about 300 km on a good highway, and most people leave in the morning and reach Jaipur by the afternoon. If you leave late, you will reach in the evening, which is also fine, as the hotels are easy to find and the staff are there at all hours.

If you come by train or flight, you will reach Jaipur station or Jaipur airport first. From there, a short taxi ride takes you to the hotel. Keep the hotel name and address ready on your phone, and share it with your driver before you start. That avoids confusion at the end of a long journey.

One practical tip: if you are booking a taxi from Delhi, book it a day early. Morning pickups get booked fast, and a confirmed booking means you do not have to bargain with drivers at the last minute. Cheapcab takes 20 percent advance, and the rest you pay after your trip.

Best time

Best time to visit Jaipur

The best time to visit Jaipur is from October to March. The weather is cool and pleasant, and you can walk around the old city without getting tired fast. This is also the time when most tourists come, so hotels get full early. If you plan to come in these months, book your hotel a few weeks ahead.

April to June is very hot in Jaipur. If you come in summer, plan your sightseeing for the morning and evening, and rest in the afternoon. The palace gardens are still nice in the early morning, before the heat builds up.

July to September brings rain. The city looks green and fresh, and there are fewer tourists. Roads can get wet, so keep some extra time for travel. For a quiet trip at a lower rush, the rainy season is actually a good choice.

Good to know

Before you book

Cheapcab does not book hotels. You book a hotel on its own official website, using the button on this page. Prices, room types, check-in time and cancellation rules are all on the hotel's site, and they change with the season. Always read them there before you pay.

The photos on this page are from the hotel's official website, and the source link is given under the photo gallery. We do not use photos from booking sites or stock photo sites for hotels.

If you need a taxi to reach the hotel, or to go around Jaipur after you arrive, you can book it from Cheapcab. The taxi fare and the hotel stay are separate. Your taxi driver will not charge you for the hotel, and the hotel will not charge you for the taxi.

One last practical tip for Jaipur: carry a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes, as the old city is best seen on foot and the days get hot. Keep your hotel's name and address saved on your phone, so any taxi driver can take you back without confusion. Small shops in the markets often prefer cash, so keep some small notes handy along with your card.
