Overview
About this property
The Golden Tusk is a resort at Dhela, Ramnagar, on the edge of Jim Corbett National Park. Its own site says it is a luxurious retreat in a green setting, with elegant design, modern amenities and personalised service. It suits guests who want a resort stay with many kinds of rooms, from tents to villas with their own pools.
The stay types are the main reason to pick this resort. Its own homepage lists villas and suites with views, cosy cottages and tents that bring you closer to nature, plus two special villa types: Waterhole private-pool villas and Jungle Spring private hot-tub villas. A private pool or a private hot tub is a strong reason to pick a villa here, since you do not share the water with other guests.
The resort's own site also lists dining experiences, recreational activities and a focus on sustainability, plus events and conferences. That mix suits families, couples and groups: families get tents and suites, couples get private-pool villas, and groups get event spaces. The resort's own site says it is ideal for corporate meetings, weddings and social gatherings.
One practical point is worth noting. Dhela is a village area near the park, not a town, so most meals and activities happen at the resort itself. Ramnagar town is the fallback for supplies and for a meal on the way in or out. If you want a town stay with shops nearby, this is not that resort. If you want a resort stay with villas, tents and safaris, it fits well.
The resort's own site also talks about sustainability as part of its pitch, and about personalised service for every guest. A resort in a village area depends on its staff and its grounds more than a town hotel does, since guests spend most of their time inside the property. That is why the range of rooms and dining venues matters here: with villas, tents, four places to eat and drink, and a spa, guests have reasons to stay in the resort all day, not just to sleep there.

Rooms
Villas, suites, cottages and tents
The resort's own homepage lists a wide range of stays. The Waterhole private-pool villas give privacy and comfort, with a private pool to unwind in amid nature, plus modern amenities and spacious rooms. The resort's own site says they suit romantic getaways, family holidays and relaxing nature escapes.
The Jungle Spring private hot-tub villas are the second special stay. The resort's own site says they let you unwind in your own hot tub, surrounded by the calm of the jungle, and that they suit couples and families alike. A hot tub villa is a good pick in the cooler months, when an evening soak is more appealing than a swim.
The Garden Suite suits couples and families who want a peaceful stay among gardens, with spacious rooms and modern amenities. The Luxury Tent suits guests who want a glamping stay: a tent with modern amenities, close to nature, without giving up comfort. The Pool Side Suite gives views of the pool, and the Villa gives a private, secluded stay with elegant rooms.
Room types and prices change with the season, so the resort's own website will have the latest list. We do not show prices here because they change often, and we do not want to show you an old price. If a private pool or a hot tub matters to you, book the Waterhole or Jungle Spring villa by name, since not every room at the resort has one.
Food & drink
Where to eat
Golden Forest is the resort's main restaurant. The resort's own blog page says it serves Indian, Continental and Chinese food, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, with open seating so guests can eat while taking in the surroundings. It is the main dining room, and it covers the day's meals for a stay that is mostly about the resort and the park.
Jungle Grill is the casual dining spot. The resort's own blog page says it offers grilled dishes, including barbecued meats, vegetables and seafood, in a relaxed outdoor setting, ideal for an evening meal under the stars. It is the outdoor option, after a safari or a walk, when you want to eat outside rather than in the main room.
Gin Tree is the bar and lounge. The resort's own blog page says it offers signature cocktails, fine wines and spirits, with a cosy interior and outdoor seating, for unwinding after a day out. Water Dining is the fourth option: a poolside meal with a special menu of light snacks, drinks and desserts, for a slow, leisurely meal by the water.
Outside the resort, Dhela has few restaurants, so the resort's own venues are the practical choice for most meals. For the latest menus and meal timings, the resort's website is the right place to check, since timings can change with the season. If you want a meal in Ramnagar town, plan it on the way in or out, not as a daily trip.
Things to do
A day of safari, wellness and evening dining
A good day at The Golden Tusk starts with a safari. The resort's own site says its guided safaris go deep into Jim Corbett National Park, with a chance to see the park's wildlife, including the Bengal tiger, in its natural habitat. Book your safari permit early: permits open 45 days ahead, and you should book the safari before the taxi, not after. Carry photo ID to the gate.
After the safari, the resort's own wellness options fill the afternoon. The resort's site lists yoga, meditation and wellness therapies, and its blog page lists spa treatments such as massages, facials and body scrubs, using natural ingredients and essential oils. A treatment after a bumpy safari is a good way to rest, and the resort's own site says it offers wellness packages for detox and refreshment.
In the late afternoon, a nature walk is the easy option. The resort's own site lists guided nature walks among its experiences, and Dhela's lanes and fields suit a slow walk with a guide. If you have children with you, ask the resort about its family activities, since its own site talks about family fun among its experiences.
In the evening, dinner at Golden Forest, a grilled meal at Jungle Grill, or a drink at Gin Tree ends the day well. If you have a second day, Garjia Temple and the Corbett Museum at Dhangarhi are the classic nearby stops, and Ramnagar town is the place for supplies. A second safari in a different zone is also worth doing, since each zone has its own landscape.
If you stay in a private-pool or hot-tub villa, the evening has one more option: time in your own villa. After dinner, a soak in your hot tub or a quiet sit by your pool is a calm end to a safari day, without sharing the space with other guests. That is the main luxury of these villas, and it is worth using on at least one evening of your stay.

Location
Where it is, and what is near
Ramnagar is the gateway town for Jim Corbett, on the Kosi river at the edge of the forest. The town itself is small and busy, with the railway station, markets and the road to the safari gates. Most Corbett resorts sit in a belt around it — Dhikuli and Garjiya to one side, Marchula further up the Ramganga valley.
The Garjia Devi temple on the Kosi, a short drive from town, and the Corbett Museum at Dhangarhi gate are the two sights visitors most often add to a safari. The Kosi riverbed near Garjiya is a popular evening walk.
Getting here
How to reach the hotel
From Delhi, the road runs via Moradabad and Kashipur to Ramnagar, about 258 km. Ramnagar has its own railway station, which is how many visitors arrive before a taxi takes them to their resort.
Resorts at Dhikuli and Garjiya are a short drive from Ramnagar town. Tell your driver the resort name, not just 'Corbett', since similarly named resorts sit in different directions from town.
Safari permits open 45 days ahead and are checked against photo ID at the gate. Book the safari before the taxi, especially for weekends.
Best time
Best time to visit Ramnagar
November to June is the best time for the Corbett region, with pleasant weather for safaris and riverside evenings. Winter mornings are cold in open jeeps, so carry warm clothes.
Safari zones shut in the monsoon, from July to September. The town and resorts stay open, but wildlife days are not possible in those months.
Good to know
Before you book
Ramnagar is a working town, not a resort enclave. Expect town traffic near the station and market, and a quieter road once you turn toward Dhikuli or the gates.
Carry cash for small expenses around town, and keep your safari permit and photo ID together — you will need both at the gate.
If you are staying on the Kosi bank, follow the resort's guidance near the water. River levels change with the season.
Book a Waterhole or Jungle Spring villa by name if a private pool or a hot tub matters to you. The resort's own homepage confirms those two villa types, but not every room at the resort has a private pool or a hot tub.
